Welcome to the March 2007 newsletter for The Beadcage. Can you believe that March has already arrived? February was a whirlwind of exciting activity at The Beadcage. Our biggest thrill however, had to be the Bead Retreat Weekend with Dallas Lovett. Please take a look at the pictures we have of that wonderful weekend. Everyone had a great time. They were more than pleased with their finished jewelry. Each day brought a completed piece and a genuine sense of accomplishment. Even Dallas Lovett enjoyed himself enough to suggest he would like to return to The Beadcage and our very special patrons.

As we expected the trip to Tucson proved fruitful. There will be additions to the inventory made daily for some time. There were alot of good deals to be found and we took advantage of many of them. Check in with us regularly to see just what we brought back. You don't want to miss out.

Our Bead of the Month will be the gilded leaves. They are treated to a unique process that strips actual leaves down to just the veins. They are then dipped in "silver", "gold", or "copper" to accentuate the beauty of nature.

This are real leaves that where hand picked and then hand painted on the surface with a copper based paint. Once the natural surface is coated with the copper metal they are able to electroform 24kt gold onto the leaves. The result is a beautiful leaf that is preserved in pure 24kt gold.
